As business struck on Solid 90% Silver (AG) Alloy Planchets at the Official United States Government Mint Facility in San Francisco, these dimes are each 79 to 107 YEARS OLD! Winged Liberty Head Dimes were nicknamed « Mercury » Dimes when they first appeared to the public in 1916, because the Winged Liberty Head conjured up images of the Roman God Mercury.
