Here is a great, understated, split shank design ladies ring featuring a 3.54 carat genuine Ethiopian opal and two side accent diamonds. The center natural opal has an orangey, « jelly » base (typical of opals from Ethiopia) with nice play-of-color flashes in predominantly reddish and greenish hues; absolutely stunning! Ethiopian opals are artisanally mined by individual small-scale miners. This opal is cut in an oval cabochon shape measuring approximately 14.9 x 8.1 mm. Opal is an October birthstone, but this gemstone is a joy to own and wear regardless of your birth month!
There are two round side accent natural diamonds, each approximately 2.0 mm in diameter, with a combined actual weight of 0.06 carat. These diamonds are near colorless and eye-clean, with average grades of I/J color and SI-1 clarity with good overall cut. The diamonds and the opal are all 100% genuine, natural, untreated, and unenhanced. This ring is solid gold and unworn; don’t be duped into buying a cheap gold-plated ring or someone else’s worn-out castoff!
The mounting is by Stuller Settings, style number 7246, in solid 14 karat white gold. Images of the mounting can be seen at stuller dot com and by searching the style number. Stuller is a premium-quality manufacturer based in Lafayette, Louisiana, and sells to fine jewelry stores all over the country and beyond. The ring weighs a hefty 6.0 grams. It is currently finger size 5.75 but is easily sizable by any competent jeweler.
This ring was originally priced at $1,995 in our recently closed brick and mortar fine jewelry store. The mounting alone without any gems would normally sell for over $1,000!
